Lynda Wilcox is Chairman of HVOSS, having commenced her voluntary roles in  Herefordshire as a trustee of South Herefordshire Voluntary Action which she encouraged to merge with three other local voluntary bodies to form  Herefordshire Voluntary Action (HVA) and then, as HVA Chairman, played an active part in the merger of HVA with the former youth charity HCVYS and the Alliance, to form HVOSS on 1st May 2012.  As Chief  Executive of Herefordshire Association of Local Councils since its  inception in 2000, Lynda advises parish and town councils across the  county and ensures their views are heard at local, regional and national  levels, currently representing the National Association of Local  Councils at the Cabinet Office Communities Prepared Group and being a  government champion of neighbourhood development plans. She has always  promoted strong links between parish councils and the voluntary sector,  believing that together they hold the key to the future sustainability of grassroots decision-making within our county of Herefordshire.

Suzanne Penny – Since  joining hvoss about 6 years ago as an Individual Member, I have enjoyed  learning about the organisation and its vital role in the community.  I  am proud to be part of this and have found being a trustee interesting  and rewarding.  I am current chair of the HR sub-committee which gives  me the opportunity to contribute to the organisation and support hvoss’  excellent work.
My professional career has  centred on Human Resources in industry, the non-statutory sector and as  an NHS HR Director in England and Wales. I have also been a Health  Director in Lesotho.
After leaving a full-time  career I have found it great to be able to bring my varied experience,   which includes the voluntary sector in England and Wales, to the hvoss  Board.  I am keen that hvoss is a good employer, whilst being a leading  influencer and direct provider of community projects.
