AGM highlights massive contribution of members to community life in the county

The 2017 hvoss AGM was brilliantly hosted by The Courtyard Theatre, hvoss member. It was an uplifting and inspiring event attended by 60 representatives of local voluntary and community organisations. Will Lindesay, Chief Executive hghlighted key achievements during 2016/17 in the face of some significant financial pressures facing hvoss, our members and the local voluntary and community sector more widely. Will also outlined our new strategic plan 2017 - 2022. Our Guest speaker, Lady Lisvane, High Sheriff spoke passionately about loneliness, a key issue experienced by so many living in our county. 

 

Our "Showcasing Success" featured outstanding efforts being made by local projects, volunteers, and hvoss members organisations. They were: -

Vennture www.vennture.org.uk  Two short films introduced by Hilary Thomas highlighted the success of their innovative relationship based volunteer model that is achieving significant outcomes for so many individuals and families.

Hope Support Services www.hopesupportservices.org.uk SammyJay spoke about their work and involvement in the No Wrong Door youth collabaoration service /categories/young-people-and-youth-groups/no-wrong-door-project.aspx

Robert Stubbings, Volunteer Driver with the amazing hvoss Community Wheels service gave a humbling insight into the 36000 hours of driving 83 volunteer drivers provide in delivering 1800 journey to clients each year in need of community transport. Quite amazing!  

The speakers inspired and motivated us all! They showed the incredible contribution made by the local voluntary and community sector, and the lives being improved of thousands of people in our county.
