A measure of the strong sense of community and caring, found in a wide variety of ways and in a whole range of situations across the county, comes into focus this month when Herefordshire’s Community Champions stand up to take a bow.
Here in Herefordshire, we have more than our fair share of men, women and young people making life that bit better for others.
This week, hvoss was very pleased to see the efforts of so many acknowledged in the the five award categories of: community, volunteering, caring, environment and youth.
Herefordshire Council’s chairman Councillor Brian Wilcox has congratulated all the nominees in this year Herefordshire Community Champion Awards.
They range in age from teenagers to pensioners, each with a firm commitment to help their neighbours, communities and the environment.
Commenting on the recent announcement of finalists, Will Lindesay, hvoss Chief Executive said "Congratulations and good luck to all nominees. Well done Cllr Wilcox for leading this initiative, and indeed everyone involved. These awards play an important role in showcasing the work of so many who selflessly support others in their local community day in, day out across Herefordshire"
Congratulations to everyone who has been nominated, amongst them a number of hvoss member organisation representatives. To see the full Hereford Times article click here.
