Reece was referred to Talent Match by his parents, Talent Match is a charity funded by the Big Lottery that works with young people aged 18-24 years.
Reece was a young man who had become lost and was not leaving the house, after a few weeks Reece was placed into the PDSA Fulfilment Centre as a volunteer.
He has now been there for nearly 12 months and was recently put forward for the PDSA Volunteer of the Year Award.
The PDSA has over 4800 volunteers and they received approximately 800 nominations for the Award from which they chose a short list.
The management then scored all the volunteers on the short list and Reece was the joint top scorer.
On the day of the award the senior management travelled to Telford to meet Reece at work and present him with his award which included a trophy, framed certificate and vouchers.
Reece was very surprised to have received the award and surprised us all by giving a very good speech in which he thanked both Talent Match and his co-workers at the PDSA for helping him start to move on with his life and he now feels ready to move on into work.
