Support is needed across all subjects. For ‘A’ Level Biology, scientific knowledge, and the ability to understand and spell terminology would be required.

Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire - Volunteers
Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Age UK Shropshire Telford and Wrekin and SAND (Safe Ageing No Discrimination) are working in partnership to reach older LGBT+ people. We have launched a volunteer led pilot project called Reach which involves volunteers making a regular telephone call to members of the older LGBT+ community. We are looking for volunteers that would be interested in supporting the Reach project! This is a rewarding and flexible volunteering role that can be done from home, around your current commitments. Become a magistrate in Herefordshire
Staffordshire and West Mercia Advisory Committee is seeking applications from those interested in becoming a magistrate on the Herefordshire Bench where new magistrates are needed in the Adult Criminal Court.
These are voluntary positions; you do not need legal training or formal qualifications to become a magistrate and we are looking for applications from across the county and from all sections of the community.
Magistrates are not paid (although some allowances can be claimed), and those who are successful in being appointed must be able to attend training and sit in court for at least 13 days a year – this is a minimum requirement.
Anyone between the ages of 18 and 65 may apply. Applications are particularly welcome from members of Black and Minority Ethnic communities, people under the age of 50, people in paid employment, and people with a disability who are able, either unassisted or with the benefit of reasonable adjustments, to carry out the full range of a magistrate’s duties.

You will receive Community Vaccination Leaders training and be offered Community Vaccination Leaders Peer Support Sessions. Training sessions will be taking place on 1st July 10am-12pm and 2nd July 1pm-3pm.
We are also looking for people who speak the following languages in order to help spread the positive vaccination messages to everybody in our community:

Can you spare an hour this summer? The Talk Community Team at Herefordshire Council have launched a fantastic new volunteering campaign this month. The Basement Youth Trust
The Basement Trust is based in Ross on Wye and provides positive activities for young people aged 11-18 for those living in Ross and the surrounding area.
Evening drop-in sessions are organised with informal activity on hand, overseen by a small team of youth workers.
These youth sessions are open-door, enabling young people to engage with each other in a safe environment.

The Sidney Nolan Trust
Sir Sidney Nolan was a leading artist of the 20th century. His Ned Kelly paintings became iconic, and today the Sidney Nolan Trust, which he founded in 1985, celebrates his life-long experimentation and passion for creativity, as well as his love for the environment. Knife Angel is coming to Hereford from 14th June 2021 to 12th July 2021, hosted by Hereford Cathedral. They are looking for volunteers to cover two shifts a day, for 28 days across a whole variety of roles. To register your interest, or to find out more, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Knife Angel is a 27ft high sculpture using over 100,000 knives surrendered and collected in nationwide amnesties in 2015/2016. Herefordshire Lore has been collecting, publishing and archiving people’s recollections since 1989. It works to remember, celebrate and record Herefordshire’s oral history before it is lost with passing generations. It is run by a group of volunteers who design, plan and gain funding for projects. A diverse range of resources have been published including the quarterly ‘In Our Age’ journal.
We will train and equip volunteers to research and record memories from members of their communities, and make contributions to our quarterly journal.

We are a families’ charity who recruit train and match volunteers to struggling families with children at home aged 0-19. The volunteer will visit or call once a week for 2 to 3 hours giving guidance, support, encouragement and friendship.

Marches Counselling Service, (MCS), is a registered charity and not-for-profit company supporting the residents of Herefordshire and the Marches to live well with or recover from challenges to their mental health.

Citizens Advice offers free, confidential, independent, impartial advice to our clients on a range of issues from housing, employment, benefits, debt, immigration through to consumer and family issues.
We have 2 types of volunteer roles:
1 Generalist Advisers who provide advice by telephone, email and face to face interviews. Our Generalist Advisers all undertake accredited training and assessment, which takes about 1 year to complete.

Kington Museum and History Centre
Kington Museum and History Centre is purely run by volunteers and we are a charity with no income other than donations or fundraising.
