Youth Provision Network Meeting – UPDATE AUGUST 2026

Feedback and key takeaways 12th August 2026

Thanks to all 25 youth champions and children and young people service providers that attended. All doing incredible work across so many needs in the community!

  1. Summary and takeaways
    • Great turnout and welcome to many new members to the network including Aquarius, who are providing early support for young people aged between 10-25 years to understand and reduce their gambling. More next time from Sam!
    • Families First and Team Around the Family (TAF). Senior Manager (Dawn Knight) to be invited next time discuss queries and questions of group
    • Services provided by Onside here– Presentation and Q and A next time
    • Collective data – How can we capture the collective work of our diverse network – scale, breadth and impact of the youth provision members, that we can then use to share with others, inform and influence others – Agreed that a common tool/way of collecting might provide a way for us all to do and more investigation needed about how this could be done. Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire tool a possible starting point for local needs! Need to think through data sharing and processes.
    • Youth Strategy – Key inputs made to draft strategy and further need around bereavement support, addictions. Minor typos picked up, need for careful thought around any plans for a youth work mobile outreach, especially starting and then starting provision. Lots of learning from last 20 years needs to be fed into emerging strategy, broadly very much welcomed as good opportunity. Need to reflect bereavement support, other support for SEND (including need to understand numbers of young people and their needs much more)
    • Herefordshire Youth Strategy launch – Taking place 3rd November 2026 c15:00 – 18:00 likely to be in Hereford. Partners and young people will be invited. Thought being given to local launch event, and local service delivery has been identified
    • Grant support for hvoss welcome by network, including aim to involve qualified youth workers and/or apprentice to join hvoss employed to enable and develop this network and enable further joint work – hvoss now need to find match funding to council grant – being applied for from a number of sources, ideally 2/3 years
