2Faced Dance seeks new Chair of Trustees

2Faced Dance is seeking to appoint a Chair to the Board of Trustees. The organisation is open to considering the role as Co-Chair i.e. the position of Chair is shared equally between two individuals whose background and skillsets complement each other. Therefore, even if you do not think you have all the attributes we are looking for, we would still love to hear from you.

This role is not remunerated, although reasonable expenses may be claimed.

2Faced Dance’s Board plays a central role in the life of the company. Its Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the company is focussed on its charitable aims, has strong governance and maintains or strengthens its position as a leader in the field of contemporary dance, education and developing young talent.

2Faced Dance serves a diverse community and we encourage applications from all backgrounds and life experiences. We particularly encourage applications from disabled people and minority ethnic groups.

Our new Chairperson (or co-Chair) will have skills in one or more of the following:

  • Experience in a Leadership role
  • Experience of Governance
  • Experience as a Trustee
  • Ability to analyse risk and opportunity to form a balanced view.
  • A strategic thinker with clarity of purpose.
  • The ability to think, act and lead strategically.
  • An appreciation of and passion for contemporary dance.

Nature of the Role: voluntary, part time. This role is open to the possibility of a job share.

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum 4 Board meetings per year
  • Minimum 4 sub-committee/working group meetings per year
  • 1 Board away day per year
  • Attendance at 2Faced Dance events
  • Background reading and preparation as required
  • Regular meetings with CEO and annual appraisal

Location: Meetings are currently held online, but as COVID restrictions ease, it is anticipated that in future there will be a mix of in-person (in Hereford) and online meetings.
