The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and the Department for work and Pensions (DWP) have launched a consultation of the future funding of supported housing. The consultation will run for 12 weeks from 21 November 2016 until 13 February 2017.
On 15 September the Government announced a new approach to funding housing costs for supported housing from April 2019. The Government confirmed that it will defer the application of the Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates for supported housing until April 2019, at which point it will bring in a new funding model which will ensure the supported housing sector continues to be funded at current levels, taking into account the government’s plans on social rents.
The consultation will support the development of the detail to underpin the new funding model, and can be found here:
DCLG and DWP would welcome views from stakeholders. Replies should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
