For those of you who’ve not yet had the chance to visit the Waterworks Museum, it's an industrial heritage attraction which tells the story of drinking water in the county. Run entirely by volunteers the museum appeals to engineering enthusiasts and families alike.
The commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers (even in Covid-19 lockdown) is immense ... whether they restore and operate the engines and pumps, create new exhibits, welcome visitors to the Museum (as visitor centre/café staff or as stewards) or work with the Directors behind the scenes in running the business of the Museum.
Current planning for re-opening the Museum in a Covid safe way has shown that we need to add to our volunteer workforce and this will be a focus for the year ahead. If you (or anyone you know) might be interested in joining the community of volunteers at the Waterworks Museum please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
