Herefordshire Communities Safety Partnership - Opportunity to contribute

We have several exciting opportunities to contribute to both the child safeguarding and community safety agendas in Herefordshire.

We are looking for several individuals to offer the voice of the voluntary sector into some of the Herefordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership groups responsible for delivering the following priorities with its strategic plan:

  • Leadership: promoting a culture of collective responsibility, accountability and professional challenge
  • Child exploitation: Reduce occurrences and improve safety and wellbeing of children and young people
  • Right help, right time: Providing children and families with the right support through a coordinated multi-agency approach
  • Neglect: Recognise, prevent and reduce occurrences to improve safety and wellbeing of children and young people

In addition we are looking for one individual to carry out a similar role for the Community Safety Partnership whose three year strategic plan includes:

  • To reduce the harm from domestic abuse and sexual violence
  • To promote Community Cohesion to address anti-social behaviour, substance misuse, hate crime and to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism
  • To tackle Serious Organised Crime and the harm it causes

If you are able to provide considered oversight of safeguarding or community safety at a strategic level as well as contribute on behalf of local voluntary and community organisations, not just your own organisation, then we would love to hear from you.  It is anticipated that your involvement would not exceed 20 hours per yesr.

If you would like further information or to express your interest in any of these roles please e-mail admin.sbu@herefordshire.gov.uk
